In Beginner’s Watercolor: Florals and Botanicals, working artist Becca Schillinger will teach you how to paint beautiful botanical and floral images using some of her favorite watercolor techniques. You will begin class with a series of short lessons on color, brushes, painting supplies, and basic painting techniques. You will practice color blending, creating gradients, and watercolor washes. Becca will teach you to lay down your composition, determine your color palette, and finally, knock out a few fantastic watercolor paintings using a floral and botanical still life and/or reference photos as your subject. And don’t worry... Becca will be there to guide you, answer questions, and help you paint around any creative road blocks!
Supplies Needed: None. You will actually receive a small watercolor kit including 3 brushes, a pencil, a palette, 12 small tubes of paint, and handy carrying case to take home with you!
Instructor Bio: Becca Schillinger earned her BFA in drawing and painting from CCAC here in San Francisco, and was trained by drag queens in NYC on how to paint a fashion-week worthy face. She is a resident DIY rockstar, offering her talents across a number of WorkshopSF classes. She required no arm twisting when asked to teach this class...
