Cult of the Machine: Precisionism & American Art - September 16, 2018 to January 6, 2019

See more than one hundred works—including a 1937 Cord 812 “Sportsman” Cabriolet Coupe—revealing how technological innovations seized the imaginations of America’s premier painters, sculptors, filmmakers, and designers of the early 20th century.



Günther Förg: A Fragile Beauty - October 2, 2018 to January 27, 2019

An exhibition that is “not-to-miss!” according to the New York Times. Günther Förg: A Fragile Beauty will survey the prolific and provocative career of the late artist Günther Förg (1952-2013). Förg was closely associated with the Cologne scene of the 1980s, a group of irreverent artists who challenged the traditions of painting.



Ida O’Keeffe: Escaping Georgia’s Shadow - November 18, 2018 to February 24, 2019

Through years of research. the DMA has uncovered lost paintings, drawings and prints that reveal the artistic legacy of Ida Ten Eyck O’Keeffe (1889–1961). Featuring over 40 never-before-seen and rarely exhibited works, Ida O’Keeffe: Escaping Georgia’s Shadow is the artist’s first solo museum exhibition and explores Ida’s mastery of color and composition, as well as her complex relationship with her well-known sister.
