On January 30, 2017, I received a text from my brother saying that my best friend, and house mate left a suicide note. Three hours later, I watched the police Chaplain pull up and walk slowly up my porch stairs. I heard her mother scream louder than a fire truck siren. I felt my tears burn my face and fall on the porch swing where we used to drink wine and tell stories. In the weeks of numbness and tragedy that followed, I battled to understand how I didn't see this coming. Finally, after weeks of insomnia, I did the only thing I knew how to do when life really sucks.
I got out of bed at 2am and started writing.

Over the next year, and with the help of many hands, I was able to create a beautiful recording of her songs

They are my interpretation of the stories that she left me with.
