PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Put yourself in the engineer's seat of a Southern Railway FP-7 No. 6133!  The 6133 was built in 1950 for both freight and passenger train service, and is one of the museum’s most popular locomotives.  After a quick safety briefing and instruction on how to operate the locomotive, climb aboard for your turn to ride down the rails! Join us for this once in a lifetime experience that any rail fan will love. Do it for yourself or purchase as a gift for your favorite rail fan! Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your selected time for a safety orientation session. Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license. Check-in outside the Barber Junction Visitor, where you will meet the crew.  Be prepared to sign a liability release form prior to your session and show ID. Clothing appropriate to a working rail yard should be worn at all times.  Cloth face covering, jeans/overalls, long sleeve cotton shirt, and boots are required. Participants wishing to have their picture made should bring a camera.  Museum buildings open at noon on Sundays, and your “At the Throttle” experience includes access to the museum during regular hours on the same day.  To redeem, please show your “At the Throttle” ticket at the Visitor’s Center or the Gift Station beginning at 12PM.  NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. EVENT OPERATES RAIN OR SHINE. PLEASE LIST PARTICIPANT'S NAME IN THE TICKET HOLDER FIELD AT CHECKOUT.  This experience is not ADA accessible.  Participant must be able to pull him/herself up from the ground by holding onto railing on side of locomotive while climbing vertical stairs up the side of the locomotive, then enter the locomotive cab through the side door.
