PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Studio Series: October

Extended periods of separation and togetherness have permeated our lives these past several months, and these themes take center stage in world premieres by Richmond Ballet Artistic Associate Malcolm Burn and local choreographer Starr Foster. Burn’s new work, which salutes the renowned Le Spectre de la Rose by Michel Fokine, is set in a time of separation, when dreams are essential in our hope for a brighter future. Through the lens of dance, Foster’s premiere explores the highs and lows that so many partners, families, and friends experienced while sheltering in place together. The October program is completed by the classic pas de trois from Swan Lake, the  poignant The Waiting Room by Salvatore Aiello, and vignettes from Val Caniparoli’s charming Djangology, works that are sure to delight both past and present fans of Richmond Ballet.

Patrons are required to wear masks at all times while in the Richmond Ballet building. Visit richmondballet.com/covid for information on all of the measures we have put in place to help keep our community healthy.
