The Laughing Tap Comedy Club

Nate Abshire started performing comedy in Minneapolis a thousand years ago, in 2009. The following year, he finished runner-up in the “Funniest Person in the Twin Cities” contest.

In 2012 he ventured west and was a semifinalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition.

In 2013 Nate performed at Laughfest in their “Best of the Midwest” contest finishing runner-up, and by this point, became very tired of losing comedy contests. He gave it another try in 2014 on NBC's "Last Comic Standing," but again did not win.

Since then he's opened for some of the best comics working today, whose names you would be impressed by hearing AND finally won a comedy contest in 2020 - The Coast to Coast Roast. In 2021, Nate released his debut album "Coming in Hot” on 800lb Gorilla Records. It has won at least one award and is quite good, honestly.

Audiences around the country love his sardonic wit, keen writing, and playful stage presence.

Nate currently lives in Minneapolis with his cat.
