DESCRIPTION

This is your opportunity to be at the throttle of the Norfolk & Western 611 for approximately 30 minutes while being instructed by a qualified engineer.  Arrive 30 minutes prior to your time slot for safety session. Must be 18 with valid driver’s license. Cloth Face Covering required while in museum buildings, on train ride, and while occupying the locomotive, and in all other situations when at least six feet of social distancing is not possible.  Check in at Barber Junction Visitor's Center, where you will be sent to the 611 check-in area. Liability release must be signed. Clothing must be appropriate to a working railroad (jeans/overalls, long sleeve cotton shirt and boots or closed toed shoes). Participants wishing to have a photo made should bring their own camera. No video permitted in locomotive cab. No photography permitted in locomotive cab while moving. Participation requires climbing ladder on locomotive with no ADA access. Museum admission included.
