Join us for Mayflower Sails 2020 presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance: the six-day maritime festival where history will come to life as the Mayflower sails into Boston Harbor for the first time, escorted by the USS Constitution on May 14. History will come to life on board the ship and at the Charlestown Navy Yard through May 19 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the historic trans-Atlantic voyage in 1620. In partnership with Plimoth Plantation, the USS Constitution Museum, National Park Service of Boston, USS Constitution and USS Cassin Young, Mayflower Sails 2020 will provide enriching pier side educational experiences for all, offering a glimpse into 17th century life aboard the ship, as well as a “Passport Through Time" program to provide an interactive and engaging experience that connects all of the ships in the Navy Yard.
Enjoy food and drink from various vendors, entertainment and music from “Rock the Dock” presented by iHeartMedia Boston’s Kiss 108, 100.7 WZLX, 101.7 The Bull, and WBZ NewsRadio 1030, and more. Tickets for the event are free, but need to be reserved for tours of the Mayflower. Children under 3 do not need a ticket.
Mayflower Sails 2020 will bring history to life through meaningful, engaging and educational programming for visitors of all ages!
Please note that the Mayflower is not fully accessible. People with difficulty walking should be aware that there are ramps that can be steep according to the rise and fall of the tides. For safety and accessibility reasons, strollers and wheelchairs are not permitted on board and may be left dockside while you tour the ship. Those unable to board the ship may enjoy engaging pier side programming, a close-up view of Mayflower from the dock and an opportunity to take photos with it in the background, discussions with modern crewmembers, and photographs of the ship’s interior.
We hope to see you in May!
