For more information visit WWW.OHIOSPRINGFEST.COM Sponge has proven to be one of the Motor City's heaviest hitters after gaining international notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata” (Sony). Emerging from Detroit with hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" Sponge received massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. Both “Plowed” and “Molly” hit #5 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Charts, catapulting “Rotting Piñata” to Gold, and ultimately Platinum status.

Sponge's follow up CD, the critically lauded “Wax Ecstatic” (Columbia) scored additional top ten Billboard hits including "Wax Ecstatic" and "Have You Seen Mary?" The band’s music was also featured in popular movies “The Craft,” “Chasing Amy,” “Mall Rats” and “Empire Records.” Sponge’s star continued to rise with network appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and the “Conan O’Brien Show.”

Sponge’s subsequent releases “New Pop Sunday,” “For All The Drugs in The World,” “The Man,” “Galore Galore,” and “Destroy the Boy,” showcased the band’s swirling sonic attack, rooted in 70's glam and of course, the Motor City influences of The Stooges, The MC5 and Motown-but still sounding distinctly like no one else.

“Plowed” continues to be the band’s signature rock track, having been spotlighted on Guitar Hero’s “Warriors of Rock – 90’s Rock Track Pack” – and on the Paper Jamz Guitar Series 2, in addition to the soundtrack for the Gerard Butler surf movie “Chasing Mavericks.”

Sponge is now touring in support of a brand new release – “Stop the Bleeding.” The full-length disc incorporates the traditional “Sponge sound” in addition to exploring edgier, industrial grooves, most apparent on the band’s twisted cover of “Time in a Bottle.”

Having shared stages the world over with Guns N’ Roses, Nickelback, Iggy Pop, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Kiss, to name just a few, Sponge continues to be one of rock’s most sought after live acts. Front man Vinnie Dombroski captivates audiences with his powerful voice, heart-on-his-sleeve lyrics and high-octane stage presence.

Now as part of the stellar Summerland Tour – hitting sheds and amphitheatres across the U.S. this summer, Sponge is poised to bring its potent brand of Detroit rock to the masses, once again proving that rock never stops.

  • Sarah McLachlan is one of the most celebrated singer songwriters in entertainment with over 40 million albums sold worldwide. She is an eight-time Juno Award winner and a three-time Grammy Award winner. McLachlan's landmark fifth album, the 10x-platinum Surfacing, contained two Grammy Award-winning tracks, "Building a Mystery" and "Last Dance." In addition to her personal artistic efforts, she founded the Lilith Fair tour, which showcased female musicians and raised over $7 million for local and national charities. In 2002 McLachlan founded her non-profit organization, the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, which provides top quality music instruction at no cost, in a safe and nurturing environment, for at-risk and underserved children and youth. From an early age, music provided McLachlan with the tools she needed to navigate the challenges she faced in her life, so she recognizes how important it is for every child to have those same opportunities. Her most recent album, Shine On, explores her personal journey over the last three years navigating love, loss and change. Shine On celebrates the human ability to grow from our experiences, thrive and shine on.

  • Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors. He continues to tour regularly, performing shows worldwide with the dark and horror-themed theatrics that he’s best known for.
With a schedule that includes six months each year on the road, Alice Cooper brings his own brand of rock psycho-drama to fans both old and new, enjoying it as much as the audience does. Known as the architect of shock-rock, Cooper (in both the original Alice Cooper band and as a solo artist) has rattled the cages and undermined the authority of generations of guardians of the status quo, continuing to surprise fans and exude danger at every turn, like a great horror movie, even in an era where CNN can present real life shocking images. As he heads back out on the concert trail each year, Cooper insists he's still motivated to continue touring and recording albums, as well as making time for such side projects as Cooper'stown (his Phoenix-based restaurant/sports bar) and his "Nights With Alice Cooper" nightly radio show, syndicated domestically and worldwide on over 100 stations.

60’s, as a part of the historic original British invasion of Supergroups, The Moody Blues have lit up the hearts and minds of millions of rock fans with inspiring anthems like “Nights in White Satin,” “Tuesday Afternoon” and “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band),” which express universal themes of love, compassion and peace. The band’s unique style of music consistently finds airplay on radio stations globally, and continues to illuminate concert arenas around the world. From being immortalized on The Simpsons to having their music featured in movies, television and in national advertisement campaigns, The Moody Blues are embedded in not only music history but in pop culture.

  • "An All American Christmas" mixes the most requested music of the holidays with production, pageantry, visuals, costuming, special effects, sound, creative lighting, and above all, excellent musical talent. One favorite ingredient is audience participation and surprise gifts!

Produced and directed by internationally recognized musical creator, Thurlow Spurr and his wife Kathey, the concert includes the artistic musical talents of Rick Everitt, The Divas, The CMI Orchestra, The Brotherhood, The Thurlow Spurr Singers, The CMI KIDZ, GIRLZ AND BOYZ as well as other soloists and musicians from the area.

Asked to describe this year's presentation, Mr. Spurr said, "It's a musical explosion of sight and sound. Each year some surprises are added that will thrill the audience. We chose "An All American Christmas" to celebrate the Christ of Christmas at a time when it is becoming "politically correct" to leave Him out. We invite our faithful concert patrons to come back and bring their friends. It's a 'must' for those who love the Christmas season! Many areas sold out early last year, so get your tickets now
