The Arts Center of Kershaw County is proud to announce To Kill a Mockingbird!

To Kill a Mockingbird captures the soul of the deep South in the 1930s, telling the powerful and heart-wrenching story of young Scout Finch. As her father, Atticus Finch, defends a black man wrongfully accused of a crime, the play unfolds a compelling narrative on racial injustice and moral growth.

This stage adaptation by Christopher Sergel, breathes new life into Harper Lee's timeless classic, staying true to the novel's spirit, while skillfully translating its intricate layers and emotional depth onto the stage.

With a powerful story, great performances, and direction by Camden legend Larry Hembree, this is a show not to be missed!

To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic story set in a dark period in our history about race. It contains some language and situations that are mature. Please use discretion when deciding the appropriate age for your younger theatergoers.

The Arts Center of Kershaw County is proud to welcome Dick Goodwin's Big Band as they return to Wood Auditorium!

If you've ever seen a performance of the Big Band, you know it's an experience. Dick Goodwin is a talent of incredible range, having worked in virtually every idiom from jingle to opera, jazz band to orchestra. The Big Band's meticulously tailors the set list to fit the audience, so it's performances are always a unique experience.

The Big Band formed in 1973 when Goodwin was teaching at UT in Austin. The group followed him to Columbia when he was hired to start a doctoral program at USC. Many of the original members are still performing with the group today, including its drummer, who has been with the group for almost 50 years.
When he's not working with the Big Band, Goodwin serves as a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the USC School of Music and has had a long association with the South Carolina Philharmonic composing, arranging, occasionally conducting and playing double bass and trumpet. Along with Dick Goodwin's Big Band, he continues to lead the Dick Goodwin Quintet, which has made a dozen foreign concert tours. Goodwin also produces film scores, commercials and albums at GEM Recordings.
