The International Festival of Raleigh is a celebration of global culture, cuisine, arts, education and cross-cultural communication. Over international groups from around the Triangle participate annually to celebrate and share their heritages at the Raleigh Convention Center.
Unique in its variety of offerings, the International Festival is the only event that reflects the wide diversity of people who call the Triangle home. Attendees experience traditions, art, dance, music and cuisine from around the world while connecting directly with their cross-cultural neighbors.
The wide range of socioeconomic strata and age groups represented at the Festival provide a true interface of many levels of our community. Visitors and participants connect intellectually and emotionally with the event as they celebrate and explore their roots.

A NATURALIZATION CEREMONY is the traditional kick-off to each year’s Festival. Approximately 300 new citizens take their oath of citizenship annually at the moving event.
MAIN STAGE features authentic global dances performed in traditional dress. This extremely popular venue features children, teen and adult performances and Dance Competition.
VARIETY STAGE: non-stop dance and audience participation. Folkloric fashion show, and special presentations
The BIERGARTEN STAGE is a live music -Bier and Wine from around the world.
The WORLD BAZAAR is a shopping area in the style of markets around the globe where Festival attendees can shop booths from different countries for art, crafts, jewelry and other items.
The Festival’s CULTURAL EXHIBITS represent multicultural viewpoints through interpretation of an annual theme. Over 40 countries create exhibits of that subject through the prism of their culture.
DANCE & CRAFT DEMONSTRATION BOOTHS offer attendees opportunity to participate in different cultures actively through craft, dance, and language lessons.
The COOKING DEMONSTRATION BOOTH features cooking classes from around the world presented by professional and amateur culinary artists.
SOPHIA’S CORNER Kids enjoy international activities, and express themselves through paint and crafts. The Citizen of the World Scavenger Hunt is a fun passport game for young and old.
SIDEWALK CAFES offer visitors a taste of different foods from around the world.
