Heeeeere’s Johnny!” That lead-in, followed by a big band trumpet blast, was the landmark of late night television for three decades. The ‘Johnny’ was Johnny Carson, the announcer was Ed McMahon, and the bandleader was Doc Severinsen. Beginning in October 1962, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson ruled the night air for thirty years. And now Grammy award-winner Doc Severinsen brings us his flair for outrageous fashion and his trademark wit, along with spectacular trumpeting, for what is sure to be a hilarious night of great music on this stop on his national tour. The Georgia Southern Jazz Ensemble provides the backing music as Doc plays songs from his catalog of more than 30 albums – from big band to jazz-fusion to classical – joined onstage by a live vocalist. This evening of fun with one of the greatest trumpeters and musicians of the last 60 years is not to be missed! *Tickets purchased online are subject to a convenience fee. PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Presented by Walnut Street Theatre, the oldest theatre in the country, this freshly-conceived production of Neil Simon’s Broadway classic, Last of the Red Hot Lovers will have you out of your seat with laughter. Set in the “Mad Men” world of the 1960s, this romantic comedy follows bumbling Barney Cashman, a middle-aged, overworked, and overweight husband as he tries to join the free love era before it’s too late. He attempts to arrange three trysts with three very different women – a bawdy bundle of fun who likes smooth whiskey and other women’s husbands, a young actress too kooky for words, and a neurotic housewife who happens to be married to his best friend. And through all the mishaps and laughter, Barney begins to rediscover his humanity and what he thought was missing all along. Last of the Red Hot Lovers enjoyed a lengthy run on Broadway and was also made into a hit film starring Alan Arkin.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Enter a world of paparazzi, crooked lawyers, criminals, and all that Jazz! Based on a 1926 play about Prohibition-era Chicago, the story follows the trial of Roxie Hart, accused of the murder of her lover. Working the press to avoid the death sentence, Roxie comes into competition with Velma Kelly, accused of killing her husband and sister. Told through song and dance styled after the burlesques houses of the 1920s, this is one of Bob Fosse’s greatest collaborations with John Kander and Fred Ebb. This pre-professional presentation is produced by Georgia Southern Theatre & Performance, with support from the Performing Arts Center.
