Back Alley Productions invites you to audition for The Great Gatsby. We are excited to bring this beloved F. Scott Fitzgerald story to life on the stage. Auditions are July 27 and July 28 at 6 to 9 p.m.

Rehearsals will be held at Memorial Auditorium on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Performances are Sept 18, 19 and 20 at the Robert Kirk Walker Community Theater at the Memorial Auditorium.

The Great Gatsby opens to a blistering summer in New York during the Roaring Twenties and tells of a mysterious Long Island millionaire named Jay Gatsby. It's told from the perspective of Nick Carraway, a young bond salesman new to a world of decadence and extreme wealth. Among the excess, Carraway finds Gatsby's genuineness appealing in the shallow social landscape and becomes fast friends with the mysterious figure.

It's through their friendship that Nick learns Gatsby is passionately obsessed with a beautiful woman named Daisy Buchanan, married to a controlling and haughty tycoon named Tom. Before long, Nick is placed in the center of a conflict between Gatsby and Tom as the two vie over Daisy's love. And as the tensions grow, circumstances reveal just how far everyone will go to get what they want. Or to protect what they have.
