Claus Hessler will perform with an all-star band as a part of Berklee Percussion Weekend.

Besides being seen as the "legitimate Moeller technique successor" of Jim Chapin, Hessler is mostly known for his open-handed approach to drum set playing and has performed at numerous drum events across the globe, sharing the stage with players like Dom Famularo, Alex Acuna, Walfredo Reyes Jr., JoJo Mayer, and Luis Conte, to name a few.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Vocal Summit welcomes guest artist and Berklee alumnus Jonathan Hoard. Since 2014, Hoard has performed and shared bills with Bilal, Sonnymoon, the Stepkids, Kimbra, and Pharoahe Monch. Additionally, in the past two years he successfully provided a jazz choral program for the first and second annual Jazz Festival of Xalapa, Mexico (resulting in a feature in DownBeat magazine) as well as debuting Montreal Jazz Festival and CMJ performances.
 Hoard's single "Arctic" received excellent response in July 2016 when Sofar Sounds premiered his live acoustic performance of the song. This year, his new single, "Sirens," was premiered on Okayplayer during Grammy week and went on to be featured on Noisey Radio (Beats1 Apple Music Station.) It has since remained in rotation on the playlist as well as on Rockwood Music's February playlist. Jonathan Hoard is a recent two-time Grammy certificate recipient for his songwriting contribution on Chance the Rapper's hit, "No Problem."

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Guitarist Peter Bernstein has been a part of the jazz scene in New York and abroad since 1989. During that time he has participated in more than 60 recordings and numerous festivals, concerts, and club performances with musicians from all generations. Bernstein has taught at the Julliard School, Berklee College of Music, North Texas State University, the New School Jazz Program and the Jazz Conservatory in Amsterdam.

To date, Bernstein has recorded nine CDs. In 2005 he released a DVD, Live at Smoke, with his old-time friends Larry Goldings and Bill Stewart.

Bernstein has been recognized in both the readers and critics polls in DownBeat magazine for the past 10 years. He continues to hone his style through writing and performing and has developed a distinctive and unforgettable guitar voice that is all his own.
