Tradition has it that Tradd Street is named after the first child of European descent born in Charleston. This tour gives access to a collection of houses reflecting the evolutionary of Charleston's historic architecture, from some of the city's oldest to those of the early-20th century. Running from the Cooper River to the Ashley River, Tradd street once commercial and residential has become almost entirley residential with only the Coast Guard Base remaining as a reminder of its mixed use.
