They’ve unleashed the secrets, showing you how to make some of their top products they sell so you walk out with a finished product and jedi with them on using basic woodworking tools, power and non. Each class we offer features a different project, so feel free to take one or take them all as we offer over 6 and more always coming.
Live edge wood Slab cutting board: Looking to embrace your inner lumberjack? Join Christopher, of Wood Thumb in SOMA, for an evening of woodworking where we ll cover basic tools and techniques, and you’ll go home with a finished product of a wood slab cutting board. cheese plate/ foodie display board or whatever! Its a gorgeous piece of hardwood with a live edge- you know the pretty exposed edge of the tree that’s all hot hot hot in design. You will learn how to cut, sand and prep these babies- then you can take it home and be like, I made this bitches! Or you can gift it. Awesome for entertaining and more. Pretty sweet!
Instructor Bio: Wood Thumb was started by two brothers, Christopher and David, who set out to make a living by building beautifully designed products that embody sustainability, craftsmanship, and ingenuity. For the holidays growing up, their gifts always needed to be handmade which led to the creative, maker lifestyle they lead today. They"re self-taught woodworkers who have really mastered the craft from the years of custom work and running Wood Thumb. We have enjoyed their awesome wooden fold up booth at Renegade Craft Fair for years and amazing wooden bow ties (we even spied Questlove in one a few weeks ago).
Supplies Needed: None! This is an intro class, but we’ll be doing more advanced classes in the future. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring an apron or we can supply one for you. (Did we ever mentioned sawdust makes one sexy cologne and makes a great dry hair shampoo...haha)
The rules / important stuff: We have a NO EXCEPTIONS 72 HOUR CANCELLATION policy - this includes cancellation, re-books, gift certificates, moving classes, etc. For more information on canceling a class, please read our cancellation policy. All classes are 21+ unless you email for permission. If any questions, please email us at info AT workshopsf DOT org.
