Block printing has been around for thousands of years, and it is still a great modern way to create unique handmade designs on anything from your holiday cards to that sweet fanny pack you scored at the thrift store. In this class you will get down and dirty with learning the various methods of linoleum and rubber block printing onto a tote bag or fabric and paper. You will achieve a basic knowledge of tools, inks, process, insider tricks and tips, and will go home with your own uniquely carved block and a piece of your own printed fabric and you can mark the world with now. All materials will be provided, but be sure to bring an apron or clothes you don’t care about just in case! Welcome to come armed with some design ideas for your graphic/ stamp as well.
Teacher bio: A native California girl, Danielle was brought up creating. After a carefree childhood of glitter, glue gunning, beads, and paint, she decided to step it up and get serious about her hobbies. Eight years of art school later, she found herself in San Francisco running a small textile design business known as The Recoverie. Danielle holds a double bachelors in illustration and interior design and is also a self taught graphic designer and printmaker. She spent many years as a children’s art instructor, but prefers to teach adults because she doesn’t like to give time-outs...(but don’t push her.)
Cancellation Policy: Workshop offers a 72-hour cancellation policy and will refund 100% of your class fee or rebook you to another class if done within that timeframe. You must cancel/ move your spot/ switch to another class at least 72 hours prior to class time- no exceptions. We lock in with our teachers at that point, purchase all supplies and contractually still have to pay teachers for your spot whether you attend or not past that point. You can also feel free to gift your class to a friend any time! Email us at info@workshopsf.org to cancel, rebook or for questions.
