The concert, produced and directed by the School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC), is a life-changing performance in one of Richmond’s largest and most prominent theaters, the Altria Theater. During this performance, world-renowned musicians join the students in a major music concert during which the students perform acts of live art.
LIVE ART is a star-studded music concert in its fourth year, and has become a highly anticipated Richmond tradition. The concert is a collaborative effort between professional recording artists and more than 250 students with and without disabilities, who come together for a night of amazing music, dance, visual art, and inspiring human connection. This year’s performance, titled LIVE ART: BLUE, features three-time Grammy Award-winning blues musician Keb’ Mo’ and blues harmonica virtuoso Phil Wiggins, folk rocker Chris Stills, legendary musician Steve Bassett, bluegrass band Love Canon, singer/songwriter Robbie Schaefer, and artists Desiree Roots, Jesse Harper, Josh Small and Drew Kullman. Artistic Advisors to the program include Grammy Award-winner Jason Mraz, keyboardist Daniel Clarke, Tim Timberlake and Pamela Arkin. For more information on the concert and the students’ year-long program, visit http://www.sparconline.org/liveart.
