Doors Open: 6:45 PM
Doors Open: 6:45 PM
IMPORTANT: This class takes place at the instructor’s private kitchen studio located at 541-A Page Street
Guess what guys: our resident Pickle Queen also knows how to jam! In this class, Kelly McVicker of McVicker Pickles will teach you how to turn fresh fruit into incredible jams to fill your pantry or pass on to your loved ones as handmade gifts.
Working in a relaxed home kitchen environment, you will produce two batches of seasonal preserves from start to finish, and learn how to safely use the water bath canning process at home. You will walk out with at least two jars of the jam or jelly that you canned in class, the recipe to produce the jams at home, and the knowledge to can your entire haul from the farmer’s market. In addition, each student will receive a Basic Canning Kit, so that you can easily continue canning jams, jellies and more at home! Now, in addition to proclaiming ’That’s My Jam!’ every time A Tribe Called Quest blasts from your radio, you can also give that shout out every time you open your pantry!
Supplies Needed: None

Kelly brought those traditions with her to San Francisco where she soon found herself haggling over boxes of cucumbers at the farmers market, and loving it. Kelly is a certified Master Food Preserver in San Francisco County. Check out McVicker Pickles on Facebook for the latest news on pop-ups and events.
