We can’t help it... you mention "weaving", and we cut straight to 1972 Gary Wright caressing our ears with his yacht rock slow jam to end all slow jams. But fear not, dream weavers... we’re about to convert you into IRL weavers! In Intro to Weaving: Woven Tapestry Edition, WorkshopSF instructor extraordinaire Jennie Lennick will teach you the basics of beginner’s weaving, including how to warp a loom, how to weave with a needle and shuttle, and how to add yarn. Using an 8.5" X 11" pop out loom and simple weaving tools, you will apply these skills by making your first woven tapestry! Each small tapestry will measure around 8" X 10.5". Along the way, you will learn decorative weaving techniques such as Rya (adding tassels) and Soumak (creating that braided look). You will leave class with your own woven tapestry, a small loom and weaving tools. You will also receive a class handout that includes weaving instructions, resources, and locations to find loom and weaving supplies. That should be enough to get you through the night...
