Teacher Bio: Brett is an artist and coffee person from San Francisco. Since he was a teenager growing up in Portland Oregon, Brett has been drinking coffee. He has fond memories of spending a large portion of his teen years drinking weird sugary mochas from coffee bars around Northwest Portland, the kinds of places that most certainly had overly worn thrift store couches and board games containing pieces of several different games. He began working in coffee in late 2000 and has spent a considerable amount of time drinking, making and thinking about coffee throughout the United States and abroad. His has worked in coffee in a variety of capacities, in cafes and roasteries on both coasts of the United States for the better part of his adult life. In 2009 he moved to San Francisco to work for the recently opened FourBarrel Coffee. This past summer, after working at FourBarrel for six years, Walker parted ways to open his own café, George and Lennie. Opened in August of 2015, George and Lennie is a coffee forward café in San Francisco s Tenderloin Neighborhood.
