Our pie class has been hibernating for several years, but now it is back! Study up with our resident pie pro Elizabeth Simon of Revenge Pies to learn the basics of baking a great pie. You will kick off class by sampling a buffet of pies - talk about a welcome! Then you’ll focus on making pie dough, classic methods and popular modifications (gluten free, vegan and wheat). Learn the difference between crusts for savory and sweet fillings (Pot Pie, Quiche vs. Pie.), how to pre-bake a tart shell, and how to design lattice tops and crimp edges. Of course, Elizabeth will teach you to make the crumble top! Next, you will learn to stuff and fill your pie with awesome fillings. Pie folks will learn the nuances of baking different fruit fillings. Last, Elizabeth will share some pointers on how to bake these delicious babies at home. You will take your pie home to bake when you"re ready... helllooooo take & bake pie!
