So you’re serious about learning how to knit? HOW SERIOUS?! This amazing three session class is ideal for beginners as well as novices who may have some experience but desire to brush up on their skills and work on a few specific projects. In the first session, Instructor Becca Schillinger shows you knitting basics, and gets you started on creating stitches using big needles. You’ll choose to make a cozy headband/ear warmer, an infinity cowl scarf, or a pair of boot socks. You will take this beginner project home to finish, along with your fresh new set of knitting needles! In the second session, you will bring in your knitting project (hopefully finished!) and ask questions / discuss / troubleshoot any knitting issues with the first project. You will also get to choose your own adventure for the next project: knit fingerless gloves or slipper booties! During session three, the knit-a-long class, you will complete one slipper or fingerless glove, and get started on the next with the intention of finishing it at home.
Knitting skills you will learn include: increasing and decreasing stitches, ribbing, finishing work with blocking, and sewing with a yarn needle. If you have special yarn (chunky thick yarn is best) that you would like to bring, go for it! Otherwise, we will supply you with yarn, needles, and everything you need to complete these fun, easy projects. This class is hands-on and totally addicting!
