Young Cardinals, a preponderate three-piece based in Raleigh, NC has been in existence in various incarnations since 2006. With a sound that can only be described as dirty, grungy, indie-psychedelic rock, Young Cardinals draws influence from all things dirty and delicate, filthy and beautiful at the same time. In 2010- frontman and guitarist James Forgey, known for his blistery guitar riffs and sonic vocals, met up with Idaho natives Sam Branstetter (bass) and Marcus Matile (drums) to form Young Cardinals. In 2011, the trio released their first self-titled EP under Young Cardinals after collaborating with producer Mike Garrigan (of the bands Athenaeum and Collapsis) and recording mastermind Mitch Easter. “The Ghost of a Locomotive” was released in early 2013 under Sound Write Recording, marking the band’s first full length album. In October of 2014, Young Cardinals met up with grammy nominated engineer, David Arnold, at Stump Sound Studios to record the album “Flamingos” which was released in the summer of 2015. The band is debuting their short film/music video 'Flamingos' on May 27th at The Pour House.
