In our new Craft Hack classes- Katy Atchison, crafter at large, takes on popular & on trend DIY trends with an approachable, fun style keeping with Workshops lo-fi motto. She deconstructs often expensive crafts/ classes out there and offers a lo-fi fun starter version. These classes will be more project based over an intensive class. Ideal for just trying out a new craft before investing a ton of loot or time into classes or supplies. A long time Etsy fan/ seller and part of the community, Katy tackles new crafts all the time rotating her class offerings often- think craft class meets a fun etsy style craft night. You can even bring boxed wine and Oreos- shit, we dont judge.
Melt & Pour Soaps: No one likes a real life Pig Pen, bro. Feel extra proud as
you suds up with soap you made yourself. Using premium & easy to work with materials, Katy will jedi you through semi-advanced techniques, scents and some fun such as how to add a toy in the center of your soap (we aready bought some dinos) or add designs to make your soap look extra swanky in the tub. This class will work with materials you can order online easily and a great starter class that doesnt involve lye or harsh chemicals like our advanced soap classes we offer time to time. Simpler, a bit sillier and great in the shower- we promise! Students will walk out with a few bars of soap.
teacher bio: Born to a potter and a textile artist, Katy has a natural curiosity to explore everything DIY. While other kids were attending summer camp & soccer practice, she was raised surrounded by everything craft: weekends were for selling at craft shows, babysitting with Grandma Atchison was filled with painting, summers in Montana meant counted crossstitch with Grandmie Bonnettt & after homework was finished she was weaving, loading kilns and sponging pots for weekend craft show prep. She"s taught several workshops in the Bay Area; including Handlettering, Scrubs & Soaps, Painting, Illustration & How to Make Your Own Mini-pie. She is an illustrator for her 9-5 job and does web design, for more about her adventures please visit: katyatchison.com
