Join TU Dance Artistic Directors Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands at The O’Shaughnessy in Saint Paul, as TU Dance opens its 14th performance season with an evening of new works.
This year’s performance includes world premieres by New York choreographer Stefanie Batten Bland commissioned by The O’Shaughnessy, and Marcus Willis commissioned by the Rosemary and David Good Family Foundation, as well as Uri Sands’ Hikari, originally commissioned by the Ordway to celebrate TU Dance’s 10th Anniversary.
The program also includes Ron Brown's stunning Clear as Tear Water (2005) a solo work originally choreographed for Toni Pierce-Sands.
Founded in 2004 by Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands in Saint Paul, Minnesota, TU Dance is a leading voice for contemporary dance. The 10-member, professional company is acclaimed for its diverse and versatile artists, performing work that draws together modern dance, classical ballet, African-based and urban vernacular movements.
