In this new class, we continue your sewing knowledge by delving into making your own clothes- whoot whoot! Work with the adorable Jennie Lennick, from Jenny Lemons and make your own adorable boxy cut top. Learn how to follow a basic pattern, cut out your garment, learn about fabric choices and putting it all together to create an adorable top!
This class is ideal for if youve taken our sewing 101 or bootcamp and are ready to move on to some more intense projects. PRE-REQUISITE YOU MUST ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SEW OR HAVE BEEN TO A WORKSHOP SEWING 101 OR BOOTCAMP CLASS TO USE OUR MACHINES.
Supplies Needed: We supply 1-yard pre-shrunk piece of denim chambray for your crop top plus all other fabric but if you would like to bring your own fabric from a prior class or the fabric store, please feel free. We have a variety of fun prints and solids available but we recommend going to Fabric Outlet on Mission Street at 17th if you would like your own. WE SUPPLY THE SEWING MACHINE AND SUPPLIES. You will be using a simple Janome that transfers knowledge easily and can be purchased from retailers for under $150- and will come new and hassle free to set you up right! Please do not bring your own machine. If you do not fall under "standard sizing" Please let us know so we can supply a proper pattern.
Teacher Bio: Jennie Lennick is a San Francisco based artist who reinterprets traditionally domestic and feminine imagery into drawings, sculpture, fiber, and functional items that investigate the relationship between high art and kitsch. Her playful work oftentimes feature mid-century recipes and repetitive food motifs. Jennie holds a BFA in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking with minors in Photography and Art History from the University of Minnesota Duluth and an MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. When she isn"t in the studio Jennie teaches art classes at the San Francisco Art Institute, Workshop, and Root Division.
Cancellation Policy: Workshop offers a 72-hour cancellation policy and will refund 100% of your class fee or rebook you to another class if done within that timeframe. You must cancel/ move your spot/ switch to another class at least 72 hours prior to class time- no exceptions. We lock in with our teachers at that point, purchase all supplies and contractually still have to pay teachers for your spot whether you attend or not past that point. Please understand that buying a ticket to a Workshop class is the same as buying a concert ticket, theatre ticket, or movie ticket, and we must treat refund requests after the 72-hour mark in the same manner.
