In Beginner’s Leatherworking: Craft and Dye Your Own Leather Wallet, you will learn and apply leatherworking techniques to cut, dye, and assemble your own wallet from vegetable tanned leather! Jennifer Laursen, owner and designer of Tilt Leather, will teach you to follow a simple wallet pattern and cut out your leather strips. She will demonstrate how to mix dye to arrive at the color or stain you desire, then apply that dye to your leather. You will learn to hand stitch the leather pieces for assembly and apply a snap. Finally, you will burnish the wallet edges to finish the project. Jennifer will also discuss the benefits of using vegetable tanned leather, as well as how to take care of your new wallet! You will leave class with one wallet and a working knowledge of the tools and techniques necessary to create more wallets at home!
