In this course, lettering designer Chie Tamada of Sparkletters will get you started on learning the fundamentals of hand lettering! This introductory course will cover the purpose and method of classifying letters, identifying basic lettering terminology, and building a solid foundation to begin lettering. We will be using some of Chie’s favorite and essential lettering tools, and each student will work with a variety of markers and worksheets to practice lettering illustration. Chie will share with you some of her latest work and a live demo session during the course. Each student will take home a set of worksheets that include alphabet guides, practice sheets, and tips on finding and further developing your own lettering style. No prior experience (or nice handwriting) required!
