Brevard College Theatre and Music departments present the musical revue Some Enchanted Evening, The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein, composed by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and concept by Jeffrey B. Moss.
Songs from South Pacific, Oklahoma, The Sound of Music, Flower Drum Song, Cinderella, and many others are featured in Some Enchanted Evening. These entertaining and enjoyable songs are some of the best in the Rodgers and Hammerstein repertoire.
While artfully piecing together the songs from these well-loved American classic musicals, the contexts of the original works have been adapted to portray a group of five performers who connect with each other through a set of intimate, yet entertaining numbers. An elegant showcase of these favorite musical theatre tunes, this production is sure to transport audiences on a theatrical journey, invoking the feel-good nature of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s work that fans love so dearly.
Guest artist Peter Savage will direct, with the musical direction and choreography by guest artist Wendy Jones. The cast includes Brevard College students Lily Bartleson, Raquan Edwards, Molly Ledford, Hunter Rogers, and Alex Webster. Scenic and lighting elements will be designed by Brevard College Assistant Professor Andrea Boccanfuso, with costumes by Ida Bostian.
Performances are Friday and Saturday March 27 - 28 at 7:00 pm, and Sunday March 29 at 2:30pm in Ingram Auditorium at Brevard College.
