Doors Open: 6:45 PM
Doors Open: 6:45 PM
This class is for all the makers who live the roaming storefront lifestyle, indie designers with Etsy accounts, and the regular folks who make amazing stuff and want to get it out there via design & craft shows or pop-up shops. Design shows and pop-up shops are great ways to get started on a low overhead, but they can be a lot of work. Kelly Malone, 10-year veteran of the show circuit, event planner, pop-up consultant and founder of the SF based design show Indie Mart, is here to jedi you on your way to creating a functional, flourishing small business.
You’ll learn how to plan, promote, and market your event, as well as what to bring and how to max sales. Kelly will cover setting up a good booth, merchandising tips, and how to make your booth fun and eye-catching so people want to be there. She’ll explain the differences and advantages/disadvantages, between trade shows and design/craft shows, as well as small shows vs. big ones like Renegade Craft Fair. We’ll talk on using your shows to get wholesale accounts, as well as the difference between wholesale and retail, pricing, when you should discount, and how much. You’ll also walk out with an epic checklist for all shows so you’re prepared, ask the right questions, and never forget anything!
WORKSHOP OFFERS A 48-HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY AND WILL REFUND 100% OF YOUR CLASS FEE IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL. YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR SPOT AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO CLASS TIME IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE REFUND OR RECEIVE A CREDIT TO TRANSFER INTO ANOTHER CLASS. REMINDER: ALL WORKSHOP CLASSES ARE FOR AGES 18 & OVER. IF A STUDENT WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS CLASS AND IS OVER THE AGE OF 13, PLEASE EMAIL TO ASK THE INSTRUCTOR. THANKS.
