Kenneth Rodgers, director of the North Carolina Central University Art Museum, looks at the origin of the cultural movement that introduced America to the stylistic inclusiveness of many black artists. The varied styles of Meta Fuller, Aaron Douglas, Archibald Motley, William H. Johnson, Malvin Gray Johnson, and Augusta Savage are highlighted.
